Furnace sootblowing optimization
is based on the direct measurement of furnace heat flux
at a number of selected locations within the furnace and
sootblower operation based on heat transfer need or demand.
Since furnace slagging is generally not uniform, cleaning
needs vary with location. By directly measuring the heat
transfer at selected locations within the furnace, sootblowers
can be operated exactly where and when required for optimum
efficiency.
The Furnace Cleanliness Module,
which includes heat flux sensors and analysis software,
can be used as a standalone system or directly integrated
with the sootblower control system to provide operators
with a single interface for sootblower operation and sootblowing
optimization.
