12Mw resistance furnace power supply

This project comprised of the removal, transfer and installation of an 11kV 12Mw 100kA transformer rectifier unit. As part of the project the transformer and rectifier cubicles were overhauled prior to installation at the new site. The installation included all new control systems together with all services.

The new control system comprised an Allen Bradley PLC together with local and remote operator interfaces. This revised control system gave improved power output control in a fully automatic cycle together with improved overload protection and fault diagnostics. A new 11 kV supply together with a new substation and vacuum switchgear was installed as part of the project.
